THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

Leaders in the Menstrual Health Movement

At The Flow Initiative, we are redefining what it means to lead in the menstrual health movement. As a minority-owned, women-led organization, we have established ourselves as a trusted voice on menstrual equity, often serving as the first and only organization called upon to guide critical discussions at the highest levels of government and global forums. From New Jersey to international platforms, we provide the insights, strategy, and expertise needed to drive transformative change.

Our influence extends beyond product distribution. We work to implement systemic solutions through policy advocacy, menstrual health education, and the provision of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities, ensuring that people have the resources to manage their periods with dignity, free from stigma. Through our collaborations, we are shaping a future where menstrual health is treated as a fundamental public health priority.

Partners in Thought Leadership

The Flow Initiative has been sought out by an array of local, national, and global partners to lend our expertise, craft innovative solutions, and champion menstrual equity. These collaborations reflect our position as thought leaders who understand how to navigate the complexities of public health, legislation, and community engagement. Our partners include:

  • International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA)
  • Menstrual Rights Global
  • Thrive New Jersey Coalition
  • UN Women
  • United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
  • Urban Institute
  • White House Gender Policy Council
  • Local and national grassroots organizations
  • Think tanks and leading academic institutions

By working across multiple sectors, from global entities to grassroots movements, we are driving a multidimensional approach to menstrual equity that is both scalable and sustainable.

Why The Flow Initiative?

As thought leaders in menstrual health, we offer a unique blend of advocacy, strategic insight, and lived experience. Here are four key reasons to partner with us:

  • Visionary Leadership in Menstrual Equity
We are recognized for our ability to convene diverse stakeholders—from policymakers to grassroots leaders—around menstrual health as a public health issue. Our pioneering efforts have resulted in legislative advancements, positioning menstrual health as a core issue in health and gender equity.
  • Minority-Owned, Women-Led Impact
As a women-led, minority-owned organization, we bring an intersectional lens to our work. Our leadership reflects the communities we serve, enabling us to address menstrual equity in ways that are culturally relevant and impactful.
  • Trusted Partner to Global and National Organizations
From influencing international policy frameworks with UN Women and UNFPA, to advising local governments on sustainable solutions, we are at the nexus of global innovation and local action. Our reach enables us to implement meaningful, on-the-ground solutions informed by global best practices.
  • Holistic Approach to Menstrual Health
We don’t just provide immediate relief; we design long-term strategies that address the structural causes of period poverty. Our work spans education, advocacy, infrastructure, and legislative change, making us a uniquely qualified partner to address this multifaceted public health issue.
