The Flow Initiative extends sincere gratitude to the late Councilman Michael Yun for his support of menstrual equity for all. Councilman Yun was the first to support The Flow Initiative's mission and provide a platform to amplify our work in Jersey City.
Launched a #EndPeriodPoverty campaign with United State of Women (USOW), to provide resources for people who menstruate and allies to advocate for menstrual equity. The campaign focuses on period poverty across three core areas which are to raise educational awareness of the issue, provide ways for people to get involved at a grassroots level in their community, and drive people to email their representatives to support the Menstrual Equity For All Act. Get involved.
Executed numerous period poverty workshops with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (BCBSNJ) to engage local communities on the health issue, increase access to menstrual health products, and provide free resources at a grassroots level. Horizon BCBSNJ also provided microgrants to The Flow Initiative which helped increase product inventory and distribution to nearby communities. Horizon BCBSNJ and The Flow Initiative will continue to work together to champion menstrual equity for all.
