National Menstrual Health Awareness Month is a new cultural recognition to recognize women, girls, and menstruating people residing in the United States. The month coincides with Period Poverty Awareness Week, historically held the last week of May, and World Menstrual Hygiene Day which is held annually on May 28. All of these moments reinforce the importance of menstrual health awareness and education, and The Flow Initiative is at the forefront of this conversation.
From now through May 31, The Flow Initiative will have the following programs and partnerships in place throughout the month:

Take action to #EndPeriodPoverty by emailing your representatives and urging them to support the Menstrual Equity For All Act, which is designed to increase the availability and affordability of menstrual products for individuals with limited access, and for other purposes.
Nationwide, there are an estimated 16.9 million people who menstruate living in poverty in the United States according to the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. The Flow Initiative believes in providing access to all those who menstruate and your product donations will help us achieve this goal.
